Happy Birthday Falcon!

Happy Birthday Falcon! We got history my man! Once a Dog Warrior ALWAYS a Dog Warrior. I absolutely still think about the DOG days of growing up. We grew up together and you will always be my brother from another mother! We shared the town, the neighborhood, the roof. I cherish the times we had as we navigated our way through growing up, I have always looked up to you big bro! Happy Birthday to you my man….I know how old you are, I am just not going to be the one to announce it to the world :) You are the only person I know who thought they were actually a super hero…and guess what…you are! Take care my friend. Love ya!

23 Years.

Whelp, we have been married for 23 years straight…no break:) It has been nothing but awesome, the whole thing. Life is a journey that should be shared. We are doing that. Love the people you come across, you never know you might be with them for 23 years or more. That is what I call awesome :) Here’s to the next 23 and then the next 23 and the next 23 and then the next 23…….now THAT would be AWESOME.

Soccer.

Little reflection…no one ever looks back and says…”I spent too much time with my kids”. Soccer has been good to me in that way. So thank you soccer :). I enjoyed coaching my three kiddos that are still home this past Spring as crazy as it was. And I look back and I absolutely love the times I had with my now college kid as well. Soccer time was actually family time, who knew? Again, thank you soccer :) See you soon.

Hot tub.

Sometimes I have my best ideas while in the hot tub…and sometimes I have no ideas in the hot tub. They are both equally good.

“GodZELLA” arrived this week :) Always a fun and proud moment watching your kids overcome obstacles as they learn about life. (this has little to do with basketball by the way)

1000 Points.

My current favorite College Basketball Player just hit 1,000 points this week! I like to say I taught her everything I know…but…that would be me just trying to be funny. She simply just works hard and has fun…and boom, 1,000 points. Congrats Sage! Keep it going!

Snow Day #2.

Looks like sketching out snow peeps does in fact make it snow.

Snow Day…watched Spider-Man with a few daughters and then made a couple of snow peeps outside. Never thought the two things went so well together. Didn’t see that coming.

Homecoming.

If your going to a Homecoming Dance you better wear your dancing shoes! That is exactly what my daughter did....so, of course....I sketched it :)

Fall.

FALL. I love it. Things turn, turn colors, turn new! It has been a great beginning to the new school year. My four beautiful daughters are now taking on something new…a freshman year in college, sophomore year in high school, seventh grade and seventh grade. My lovely and amazing wife is taking on teaching high school kiddos and I…well…I am taking on my 20th year of teaching Art at Westside Elementary School (and coaching soccer at the High School). I have learned to have FUN, everyday no matter what kids these days bring. I teach and coach no matter what and who. Bring it, and have FUN bringing it. Never forget the FUN. How do you know when there is FUN…easy…look for the smiles! Have a great week looking for the FUN!

Our pet raccoon.

Sometimes I think our family dog looks more like a raccoon fresh from the woods than a dog…she turns heads sometimes. Also…as we went to our first soccer tournament of the new season we may or may not have snuck our family dog (raccoon) into the hotel for the night…I can’t remember. I will leave that there…anyway, the soccer this weekend was awesome like always:) One more thing by the way...if you want to see photos of the racoon dog go to my instagram. #11.

I guess that signing day was for real back in April! Paisly is once again wearing #11, but this time for York University. She went from a Cardinal to something a tad more fierce…a Panther! We had a great time seeing her at college this past week. We got to move her in and watch her first game. We even snuck in to watch a training, we just had to hide behind a tree and a fence to do it:). Proud and excited for her journey forward wherever it may take her. Go be fierce PaiZ!

Bill Russell.

Going the extra mile is how Bill Russell had his hand in winning 11 NBA Championships. 10 fingers and 11 rings. Tough to beat. Do more…not less. Also, Bill was a team player, others came first and that naturally created success. Again, 11 championships...unreal.

My Birthday.

Happy Birthday...to me...I acted like a monkey and jumped on trampolines and swung from everything possible over at "Urban Air". I figured if you are getting older, well...you might as well act younger. Stay youthful my friends.

The Lodge at WCYC.

Just got back from Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp. Sketched the Lodge this fine morning :) It is the building that is considered the center of the camp.
